I would simply like to state as a proud Salvadorian who is an active M.E.Ch.A member, your web-site is proof that patriarchy and bigotry is alive and well in Los Angeles. I feel nothing but pity for you, and your poor family that you like to rally as "diverse", and use as your scapegoat of not being a racist. Your attack on "illegal street vendors", can be called nothing else but xenophobic. I can only rest assure that young intelligent Mechistas like myself will be the one's holding political office, teaching at University's (Many of us already do!), and basically running city's like Los Angeles. So sit tight Amigo, because although you may feel important now with your cute little web-site, your nothing but a little man with way too much time on his hands. I look foreword to when I graduate from my University like many other Mechistas, and pissing racist people off like yourself, by passing and controlling legislative and policies. Since when is opposition to illegal vendors xenophobic? Seems I touched a nerve.
I've said this many times but it needs repeating to someone like you. The definition of a bigot according to the American Heritage Dictionary is one who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ. So who's the bigot?
The MayorNo website has a mountain of evidence that MEChA is a racist, separatist, and bigoted organization. If you want to present an argument, do it intelligently. But name calling, insults, and threats only proves I am right about the evils of MEChA.
You're a proud Salvadoran? How about becoming a proud American?
